DIY: Jars

DIY: Jars

As most y'all know, last weekend I made a trip to Target to stock up on Valentine's Day items.  I always have to stop by the "Dollar Spot" in Target.  I usually snag the cutest things for no more than $3 an item!  Unfortunately, I couldn't find a single thing in the dollar spot until the very last spot that I looked.  I found these darling glass jars and they were only $1!

As soon as I saw them, I instantly thought of about 20 different things that I could put in them.  I decided that I wanted to label them.
Here is a list of what you will need:

            • Glass jars
            • Rub on labels
            • Scissors
            • Stick
Step 1: Take the scissors and cut out which label you want to use.

Step 2: Take off the backing(black part) and place clear label wherever you would like,

Step 3: Write on it! I didn't write on mine because I couldn't find anything non-permanent!
Finished Product:

I decided to put cotton balls in one of my jars to make it easy when I'm taking off my eye makeup or nail polish! I decided that I will put bobby pins in my other jar since I am always searching for them. I think I will be able to keep more than 3 at a time if I have a cute jar to place them in!

I loved the idea of the jars because they were inexpensive, cute, small, and simple!  I'm hoping to stop by Target tomorrow to pick up a few more! Let me know what you would put in your jars.

Happy Friday Loves!

Target Haul

Target Haul: Valentine's Special
Does anyone else love the "day after" a holiday at Target??  I definitely do! It's the time that I stock up on stuff for the holiday next year.  There's nothing better than going into Target to see that their holiday items are 50%, 75%, 90% off!  The longer you wait the better deal you will find in the holiday section.

I decided that I didn't want to miss out on the opportunity of snagging some amazing Valentine's items so I went to Target today! Below is a picture of what I bought!

I stocked up on the prettiest tissue paper.  I bought gold striped, red, pink, and white.  These are perfect for gift bags for birthdays, weddings, Valentine's, etc.  I scored them for $0.75 each(originally $1.50).  I also bought an adorable cupcake/cakepop stand for under $5! I thought this would be perfect the next time I have a party or a family gathering. I saw a cute dog treat Valentine that I couldn't pass up getting for my to labs.  If you love baking, I would recommend getting some of the cookie cutters.  They were only $0.49!

I found these adorable glass jars in the dollar section of Target!  I will have a DIY tutorial posted soon.  I may have to go back and grab some more of these handy jars.

Are there any places you love to shop the day after a holiday? Let me know in the comments section and I will be sure to check it out!

Happy Sunday Loves!

Week in review-February 2015

Week in review- February 2015

This week I had so much participating in a few different Instagram style challenges! I'm planning on doing them for the rest of the month.  If you have never done a style challenge, you should try it out for one week! Seriously,  it makes getting dressed in the mornings 10x easier.  If you are anything like me then you probably spend forever trying on different outfits and not liking any of them.  Well, let's take a look at my outfits this week for the challenges.

Monday's outfit was super easy, comfortable, and classy.  How does it get any better than that?  I'll take any style challenge where I can incorporate a cardigan because it's always freezing in my office.

Monday, February 2nd

Target Dress(old)-Similar, Cardigan-Same, Booties-Same

On Tuesday, I had so much fun putting together this outfit! I knew that I needed to have mint in my outfit so I immediately went for my mint and navy blue wedges.  Since my wedges had those two colors, I decided to wear my favorite "go to" pants and mint shirt.  I feel like the necklace and shoes pulled everything together!
Tuesday, February 3rd
Necklace(old)-Similar, Top-Similar, Cardigan-Similar, Pants-Exact, Shoes(old)-Similar

Wednesday was an all black with a pop of color kind of day.  There's something about wearing all black, classy and sassy.  The shirt I wore on Wednesday has been on repeat since I bought it.  I love that it's a looser fit and it little bit longer.  The clutch was a perfect touch to the outfit!

Wednesday, February 4th
Shirt-Same, Pants-Same, Clutch-Different

On Thursday, I knew that I needed to find something purple and possibly a dress in my closet.  This was probably the hardest day for me because I don't wear purple that much.  Then I remembered this lovely dress I bought last spring from The Red Dress Boutique.  I threw it on and my favorite pair of nude shoes.
Thursday, February 5th
Dress-Same, Shoes-Similar

Friday's call for casual day in the office.  I love being able to come to work in jeans after a week of wearing dressy pants.  Now don't get me wrong, I absolutely love getting dressed for work except for Friday's.  I somehow managed to do six style challenges in one! My main goal of my outfit was to wear pink.  That was too hard to pull off since pink is one of my favorite colors.

Friday, February 6th
Cardigan-Similar, Shirt-Similar, Jeans-Exact, Necklace-Similar

I was so excited about Saturday's outfit! I wanted to wear my new goodies from Frou Frou & Frill.  I had the perfect shirt and shoes to match my jewelry. I love my shirt that my grandpa picked out for me for Christmas a few years ago. Yes, you read that right..my grandpa has good taste! I had a few errands to run on my day off so I wanted to keep it comfortable and casual.

Saturday, February 7th
Necklace-Same, Bracelet-Same, Jeans-Same, Shoes-Similar

There's my week in review!  I hope y'all enjoyed reading it and maybe got some inspiration from it. One thing I love about IG, is the inspiration I get from other people! It's so fun to see your clothes styled many different ways.

By the way,  I will be doing a review and a giveaway soon with Frou Frou & Frill! Make sure you keep your eyes open so that you don't miss out on it!

Hope you have a wonderful and restful Sunday!

Liebster Award

Hello y'all!
I'm so excited to announce that I was nominated by Amanda at Moon Orchid Motifs for the Liebster Award.  The Liebster Award is for bloggers who have less than 200 followers.  It is a way to discover new bloggers. I have answered a few questions about myself and listed some fun facts about me.  I have also nominated a few bloggers so be sure to check them out!

1.  How did you decide on the title of your blog?
The name of my blog came from who I am as person.   I am from the South and wanted to incorporate that into my blog.  One of my biggest fears about moving from the South was that I would lose who I am as a person.  What I mean by that is my accent, traditions, and things that we do in the South.  I feel like I have already lost a touch my southerness(not sure if that’s a word).  I’m hoping that by having this blog I can bring back my Southern roots and be who I am!

2. What is one word that sums up the heart of your blog and why?
Truth- I always want my blog to be truthful! I want to share real things with my followers.  I hope that I am able to help other people through my blog.

3. What are your other favorite pastimes besides blogging?
I love to spend time with my husband, family, and friends.  I enjoy the outdoors!  I love hiking, playing sports, and/or hunting with my husband.  I love working out and doing DIY crafts.

4. What is your favorite aspect of blogging?
I love that I can express my feeling.  I enjoy sharing my ideas and thoughts with other people.  Another favorite aspect is the people! The blogging world is amazing!  I have already met some pretty amazing people just from blogging.

5.  Which project, recipe, or idea would you most like to try on my blog yourself?
I want to try the cucumber salsa! It looks amazing and simple to make. J

6.  Where does your blog inspiration come from?
The South.J  That’s where some of my inspiration comes from.  I also get inspiration from other bloggers! My blog is still new but I have exciting things lined up!

7.  What is one country in the world you would want to visit and why?
I would love to visit Italy! My grandfather was Italian and I have some of the Italian genes in me. :)  I would also love to go to Israel! My church is planning to visit once a year for the next five years.  I’m hoping that my husband and I will be able to go on one of the trips.

8. If you have children, what are their names?  If not, what is your favorite boy and girl names?
We don't have any children yet. :) My favorite boy and girl names are Bentley and Savannah! I actually have quite a few names that I love!

9.  A long lost relative leaves you a large sum of money.  What do you do with it?
A few things…my husband and I took the Dave Ramsey class last year(life changer).  I would continue with the Dave Ramsey way and I would invest the money.  I work for a financial company so that’s a given. J

10.  In your opinion, what is the best blog post you have written so far? (Include link)
Since I just started blogging and don’t have that many posts.  I would have to say this is the best one that I have written so far.  I hope that from this blog you have learned a little bit more about me as a person and writer!

11.  Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In five years, I hope to still be blogging and start a family!  I can’t wait to see where I will be in the next few years.

11 fun facts about me!

1. I'm from a small town in South East Georgia.
2. I met my husband through his sister. We were roommates at the Christian college we attended.
3. My friend(now sis-in-law) told me I was going to marry her brother the first day I met her!
4. I danced and twirled baton my whole life.  I started at the age of three.
5. I'm a huge University of Georgia Bulldawgs fan.
6. I live in Southern California(that’s where my husband is from).
7. I love Chick-Fil-A!!
8. I enjoy the outdoors and hunting with my husband.
9. I love fashion.
10. I am an administrative assistant for a financial company.
11. I didn’t drive the freeway for 6 months when I moved to California! I was terrified..all of the traffic intimidated me. I come from a small town where there is no traffic!
